About the role#
As a Health Physics intern, you will help maintain a safe working environment for our employees. You will report to the Global Radiation Protection Manager within Corporate EHS. This is a paid, full-time position for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform Health Physics and Radiation Safety audits at our radioactive materials sites.
- Identify improvements for Corporate Radiological Protection procedures and guides.
- Work on projects using software packages such as CAP-88 and NRCDose.
- Help implement program improvements at our radioactive materials sites.
- Collaborate with the communications team to author, revise, and publish radiological risk communications documents.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor or master degree in health physics.
- Completed at least your sophomore year of college.
- Experience with radiological regulatory requirements.
- Interest in a career supporting nuclear power after graduation.
- Willingness to travel to a Westinghouse site on occasion.
Location & details#
- This role is remote.
- The internship runs from May to August 2027.
- The pay rate is $23.00 to $26.30 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
