About the role#
This Quality Engineer Co-Op role offers hands-on experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. You will work with the Quality Assurance team to support inspection, process improvement, and compliance. This position focuses on developing your technical and analytical skills through real-world manufacturing challenges.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to build and refine inspection plans and quality control procedures.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify part conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Assist in applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor product and process quality.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and help implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support the maintenance of quality records to meet AS9100 and customer requirements.
- Aid in equipment and process qualification or validation efforts.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives using Lean and Kaizen methodologies.
- Interpret technical drawings, GD&T symbols, and specifications.
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and the Kaizen Promotion Office to support quality objectives.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma and current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
- Ability to perform work subject to ITAR or EAR regulations.
- Interest in quality systems, mechanical inspection, and manufacturing processes.
- Basic understanding of mechanical components, dimensional inspection, and tolerancing.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with quality software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within a team.
- Resilience and the ability to handle setbacks with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required safety equipment, including safety glasses and shoes, with the ability to lift up to 15 pounds.

- Location: Malden, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 to June 2027).
- Modality: On-site, 5 days per week.
- Status: Paid, full-time co-op.
