About the role#
The Security & GRC Intern joins the Information Security team to help address security threats and maintain system integrity. You will work on vulnerability testing, assist with incident response, and develop tools to support compliance tasks. This role involves collaborating with internal teams to identify security controls and create remediation strategies for production applications.
What you'll do#
- Provide support during confirmed security incidents.
- Investigate, document, and report on emerging security trends and issues.
- Manage and configure tools to expand security monitoring infrastructure.
- Build tools to assist with security and compliance requirements.
- Perform continual vulnerability testing on web applications to find weaknesses.
- Analyze security log data from various devices.
- Collaborate with other teams to gather information and develop remediation timelines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program, preferably in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems.
- Basic competency in at least one language such as Python, Java, SQL, Go, or Dart.
- Familiarity with penetration testing techniques or vulnerability scanning tools.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Familiarity with Google App Engine or Amazon Web Services.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and strong communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- The role is primarily remote, with the option to work in a hybrid capacity if you are located near a Workiva office hub.
- Opportunities are available for Winter 2027 or Summer 2027 start dates.
