About the role#
The Regulatory Intern supports the Regulatory Administration function by managing document control and records for utility filings in Texas and New Mexico. You will gain hands-on experience with utility regulatory processes while maintaining the integrity and accessibility of official records throughout their lifecycle. This role requires high precision and accountability to ensure that filing packages are ready for regulatory review.
What you'll do#
- Organize and maintain regulatory documents within approved systems, ensuring proper folder structure, naming conventions, and version control.
- Support the preparation of filing packages, including assembling testimony, exhibits, and compliance materials.
- Assist with records retention and governance by applying retention schedules and identifying draft versus final materials.
- Track and log regulatory materials through database entry and maintenance of filing trackers.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure formatting consistency and completeness of official documents.
- Support internal coordination and audits by assisting with document retrieval and the organization of case files.
What you'll need#
- Current student with Junior status or higher as of Fall 2027.
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Information Systems/MIS, Data Science/Analytics, Legal Studies/Pre-Law, Public Administration/Public Policy, or Government/Political Science.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours per week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours per week).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional written communication skills.
- Ability to manage structured processes and multiple competing deadlines.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Familiarity with document management tools and a basic understanding of data organization.
- A process-driven mindset.
