About the role#
This paid internship provides hands-on experience for students currently pursuing a Master's degree in a social services discipline. You will work within community-based programs to support families and youth. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional, as it follows the availability of the families you serve.
What you'll do#
- Shadow counselors during home and community-based family sessions.
- Manage a reduced caseload and implement specific interventions.
- Facilitate therapy sessions for individuals, groups, or families.
- Use evidence-based practices in your clinical work.
- Attend three weekly meetings covering individual, team, and clinical consultation topics.
- Access clinical trainings to build your professional skills.
- Provide transportation to various locations as necessary.
- Document your work accurately and on time in the electronic medical record system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Master's degree program in a social services field, such as psychology, criminal justice, or related disciplines.
- A valid driver's license.
- A reliable automobile for work purposes.
- Proof of current auto insurance.
