About the role#
This is an 11-week summer internship program for undergraduate students. You will join the Business Technology Solutions team at AbbVie, focusing on either Software/Application Engineering or Data Engineering. You will work on technical projects to help solve business and scientific challenges.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise applications across the full stack.
- Develop and test user interfaces or build backend services and APIs.
- Create and optimize data pipelines, databases, and infrastructure.
- Ensure data is stored, processed, and collected securely.
- Integrate various data sources to support analytics and data science efforts.
- Use programming languages and data visualization tools to address business questions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or AI.
- A graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Enrollment in university for the semester following the internship.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- Strong programming experience in Python, Java, R, and SQL.

- This position is located in North Chicago, Illinois.
- This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
