About the role#
We are looking for a 2027 Mission Design Summer Intern to join our astrodynamics team. You will support research and development projects that contribute to the future of space exploration. Throughout the summer, you will work alongside experienced engineers who provide mentorship as you solve real astrodynamics challenges and contribute to active space missions.
What you'll do#
- Support mission design research and development.
- Work with astrodynamics engineers on projects focused on spacecraft mission design, trajectory analysis, and advanced spaceflight concepts.
- Solve complex astrodynamics problems.
- Contribute to technical projects involving NRHO station keeping strategies and trajectory optimization using evolutionary algorithms.
- Share project results through technical reports and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or another engineering discipline.
- A strong foundation in orbital mechanics and computer programming.
- Completed coursework or research related to astrodynamics, orbital mechanics, or space systems.
- An interest in spacecraft mission design, navigation, guidance and control, optimization, or estimation theory.
- You enjoy solving complex technical problems and exploring new approaches to space mission challenges.
