About the role#
Advanced Space is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join our Systems Engineering team to support the development and execution of complex space missions. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced technical staff who provide mentorship as you apply your academic knowledge to real-world spacecraft and mission development.
What you'll do#
- Support systems engineering initiatives and gain hands-on experience with engineering practices.
- Work on projects focused on spacecraft and mission systems development, system architecture, requirements, and analysis.
- Assist with interface definition and coordination across subsystems.
- Perform engineering trade studies and system-level analyses.
- Support integration, verification, and validation activities.
- Prepare technical documentation and materials for reviews.
- Present project results through technical reports and discussions with the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Foundational understanding of systems engineering concepts such as requirements, interfaces, and system lifecycle processes.
- Familiarity with spacecraft or mission systems through coursework, research, or project experience.
- Completed coursework relevant to engineering design, flight dynamics, or orbital mechanics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
