About the role#
Ag Leader Technology is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team in Ames, Iowa. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship with a rolling start date. You will work within our Manufacturing, Warehouse, and Shipping departments to improve production efficiency and workspace design.
What you'll do#
- Manage continuous improvement projects across manufacturing and warehouse operations.
- Contact suppliers to verify due dates and update the Epicor system.
- Document current production processes using value stream maps or process charts.
- Design and update workspace layouts to increase productivity.
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems and share feedback.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program or higher in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to read and write technical reports and work instructions.
- Proficiency with Windows computers.
- Hands-on experience or comfort using basic hand and power tools.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical staff.
- Completion of two years of coursework or one year of manufacturing experience is preferred.
