    About the role#

    This internship is part of the AWS Center for Quantum Computing. You will join a team of physicists, materials scientists, and engineers working to build a fault-tolerant quantum computer. This is a full-time, paid position for the Fall 2026 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop and implement scalable solutions to advance quantum computing.
    • Tackle research problems and work with technology in the field.
    • Focus on targeted customer use-cases.
    • Launch products that solve problems for Amazon customers.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a PhD program.
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week for a maximum of 12 weeks.
    • Ability to relocate to the internship site.
    • Knowledge of a scripting language such as Python or R.
    • Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
    • Familiarity with areas such as superconducting qubits, cavity/circuit QED, quantum optics, open quantum systems, superconductivity, electromagnetic simulations, microwave engineering, benchmarking, or quantum error correction.
    • Academic background in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or Biomedical Engineering.
