About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist in an institutional community pharmacy setting. This role is compliance critical and involves maintaining regulatory standards while gaining hands-on clinical experience. You will interact with a diverse patient population and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
What you'll do#
- Gather clinical information and prescription plan coverage for new patients.
- Review new prescriptions for accuracy.
- Ensure all pharmacy operations meet division, corporate, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy environment.
- Communicate clearly with patients and staff through written and oral channels.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program.
- Proficiency with pharmacy software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Basic knowledge of pharmacology, medication management, and pharmacy law.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
