About the role#
The EHS Intern supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety team at Android Industries. This role helps maintain a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible manufacturing environment. You will gain hands-on experience with daily safety practices, regulatory compliance, training coordination, and incident investigations while working across the facility to strengthen safety systems.
What you'll do#
- Support daily environmental, health, and safety activities.
- Assist with the development and delivery of EHS training programs.
- Participate in workplace safety observations, audits, and facility walkthroughs.
- Document findings and track corrective actions.
- Assist with incident reporting, injury and illness investigations, and data collection.
- Support safety countermeasures, emergency preparedness, and evacuation drills.
- Help maintain compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety requirements.
- Participate in Safety Team meetings and track action items.
- Assist with chemical inventory monitoring, hazardous waste handling, and recycling programs.
- Support environmental reporting related to land, air, water, and ISO 14001 activities.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, files, and training documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of EHS principles, standards, and regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stay organized, detail-oriented, and manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative mindset with problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable taking initiative.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
- Previous internships or coursework in manufacturing or safety environments is preferred.
- Interest in automotive manufacturing.
