About the role#
The Adventure Outings (AO) Student Trips Driver supports the program by transporting participants, staff, and equipment to various locations. You will report to the AO Program Director and help ensure safe travel and timely departures for trips, workshops, and training events. This is a part-time, non-benefited position working no more than 20 hours per week while school is in session.
What you'll do#
- Safely operate AO vans and trailers to transport participants and gear.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete all required safety documentation.
- Assist with loading, securing, and unloading program equipment.
- Follow university, state, and program transportation policies.
- Coordinate with trip leaders and staff regarding routes and logistics.
- Provide driving support for other Associated Students programs or university departments when needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Chico State with at least 6 units for undergraduates or 4 units for graduate students.
- Minimum age of 19 years.
- Valid driver license with at least two years of driving experience and an acceptable DMV record.
- Ability to complete the CSU Learn online driving course and AO van and trailer driver training.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm and follow safety protocols in various driving conditions.
- Enrollment in the UNIV389 AO Internship Course is preferred.

- Pay rate: $16.90 per hour.
- Schedule: Based on department needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
