About the role#
Austin Commercial hires Project Interns to gain hands-on experience on commercial construction projects. You will work directly with construction professionals to learn industry processes and contribute to active job sites. This is a paid, full-time program available for the Fall 2026, Winter 2027, and Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Process submittals by reviewing, filing, and distributing documents.
- Send RFIs to architects and engineers.
- Maintain logs for concrete, rebar, and RFIs.
- Verify construction techniques against plans and specifications.
- Assist with quality control inspections.
- Participate in weekly safety meetings and write meeting minutes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Environmental Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in commercial construction.
- Familiarity with construction project management processes.
- Ability to use industry-specific software.
- Strong organization and documentation skills.
- Effective communication skills.

- This is an on-site role.
- Locations include Phoenix, Arizona; Houston, Las Colinas, and Austin, Texas; Orlando and Tampa, Florida; and Los Angeles, California.
