About the role#
Ayres Associates is seeking an intern or co-op to join our Waukesha Engineering Services team. This position offers a mix of office and field work on municipal infrastructure projects. You will work alongside our field staff and project managers to gain hands-on experience in the civil engineering industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist with construction observation for municipal infrastructure projects.
- Perform quantity measurements, computations, and prepare contractor pay estimates.
- Conduct materials testing, field staking, and general inspection for road and utility projects.
- Prepare reports and review design standards or code requirements.
- Conduct field investigations to help solve design problems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an associate or bachelor degree program for construction management, civil engineering technology, or a related field.
- A valid driver license and a good driving record.
- Reliable transportation to travel between our office and project sites.
- Experience or coursework in construction observation, Civil3D, AutoCAD, underground utilities, or municipal design is helpful.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
