About the role#
Ayres Associates is hiring a civil engineering intern for the summer of 2027. You will work with our Municipal and Site Development team in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position running from late May through late August 2027.
What you'll do#
You will balance time between field work and office tasks. Field duties include construction inspection for water mains, sanitary and storm sewers, roadways, and concrete or asphalt surfaces. You will also perform construction staking for subgrade and base course. In the office, you will assist with design projects and plan production, including drafting details in Civil 3D. You will also manage quantity calculations and develop spreadsheets. Note that this role may require overtime and travel within 60 miles of the office, depending on weather and project needs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a civil engineering or construction management degree program.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Reliable transportation to reach the office and various project sites.
