About the role#
Ayres Associates is hiring a civil engineering student for a transportation internship. You will work under the direct supervision of our engineering staff and support various construction projects. This position is based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and requires on-site work.
What you'll do#
- Assist with construction inspection for storm sewers, roadways, asphalt or concrete pavement, and curb and gutter installations.
- Support design projects by preparing plans, collecting data, writing reports, and computing quantities.
- Collect traffic data and perform inspection and maintenance tasks for highway culverts and bridges.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Travel to project sites, which may occasionally include locations within 60 miles of the office.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a civil engineering degree program.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- A reliable vehicle to travel to office locations and project sites.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in construction, municipal, roadway, traffic, or structural engineering is helpful.
