About the role#
This summer internship at our Bismarck headquarters supports the IT hardware team. You will help develop and implement our hardware program while assisting staff with technical problem-solving. This is a full-time, on-site position running from approximately May 17, 2027, through August 20, 2027. This role may involve access to Critical Infrastructure Protection assets, requiring strict adherence to all company security policies and procedures.
What you'll do#
- Assist with hardware installation planning and troubleshooting.
- Maintain inventory control for devices including computers, printers, scanners, and handheld units.
- Install software packages and resolve hardware or software conflicts.
- Set security permissions for software applications.
- Participate in team projects and task forces to improve desktop management.
- Research product offerings and support policies to provide accurate technical solutions.
- Assist with special product-related issues as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a two-year program with at least one year completed, or a four-year program with at least two years completed, in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Recent graduates are also eligible.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Knowledge of PC hardware and software, networks, telecommunication devices, and diagnostic methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- A minimum 2.5 GPA is preferred, as is previous internship or relevant work experience.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and using small hand tools.
