About the role#
This internship at Dakota Gasification Company in Beulah, ND, provides project-based experience in process operations. You will work 12-hour rotating shifts and support teams with hands-on tasks. This position is for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Monitor process operations by taking readings and checking temperatures, pressures, flows, and levels.
- Watch field-mounted controls and help implement process control decisions during routine shifts, upsets, or emergencies.
- Assist with routine maintenance work.
- Support the annual Family Night event, including setup and cleanup.
- Follow all safety, security, and procedural guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Process Plant or Power Plant Technology program with at least your freshman year completed.
- Minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Valid driver's license and at least 18 years of age.
- Skills in research, analytical thinking, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to new tasks.
- Technical aptitude for fieldwork and a commitment to safety compliance.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 60 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and working outdoors in various conditions.
Location & details#
- Location: Beulah, North Dakota.
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts.
- Work environment: Over 50% of the shift is outdoors. You will be exposed to heat, cold, dust, and noise. Use of safety equipment like respirators and harnesses is required when necessary.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
