    About the role#

    The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Baylor University is hiring two student assistants to support the laboratory coordinator. You will help prepare supplies for chemistry labs and assist with various learning activities. This role involves maintaining a safe environment while ensuring equipment and chemicals are ready for student use.

    What you'll do#

    • Set up laboratory equipment and supplies for experiments.
    • Clean equipment and store supplies after experiments conclude.
    • Prepare lab spaces for instrument setup or room rearrangement.
    • Sort and organize new chemicals based on the current inventory.
    • Identify and inventory supplies needed for upcoming laboratory sessions.
    • Assist with research or laboratory functions as required.

    What you'll need#

    • Successful completion of General Chemistry Lab I (CHE 1101) or an equivalent course.
    • Successful completion of General Chemistry Lab II (CHE 1102) or an equivalent course.
    • Familiarity with chemistry laboratory safety guidelines and protocols.
    • Enrollment in Chemistry or Biomedical Sciences programs.

    Location & details#

    • This position is located in Waco, Texas, at the Baylor Sciences Building.
    • The role is on-site and requires 10 hours of work per week between 8am and 6pm.
    • Employment is available for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms.
