About the role#
This student worker position supports the Advancement team at Mission Waco. You will work alongside the Associated Executive Director and the Director of Events and Communications to manage donor relations, plan fundraising events, and implement content strategies. This role provides hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor communications, and organizational storytelling.
What you'll do#
- Write and send donor thank-you letters, emails, and acknowledgment mailings.
- Prepare materials for donor meetings, tours, and events.
- Assemble donor packets, newsletters, and campaign materials.
- Collect stories, testimonials, and program updates for communications.
- Create graphics, flyers, and social media content for various programs.
- Provide general office and administrative support to the Advancement team.
What you'll need#
- Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
- Ability to operate a DSLR or 4K camera.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere for video editing.
- Experience creating content on design platforms.
- Knowledge of social media platforms.
- A flexible attitude, organizational skills, and a willingness to learn.
- Reliable transportation, as this is an off-campus position.
- Preferred majors include Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Graphic Design, Art, or Public Health.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026 with potential for ongoing employment.
- Schedule: 10 to 20 hours per week with flexible working hours.
- Pay: $11.00 to $12.50 per hour, depending on experience and status.
- Modality: On-site.
