About the role#
Baylor University is hiring a Student Worker to serve as a Fitness Instructor and Trainer for the Summer 2026 term. This role supports the FitWell program by leading group exercise sessions, including F45 classes, at the McLane Student Life Center. You will work at least 6 hours per week within the facility operating hours of 5:45AM to 10:00PM.
What you'll do#
- Plan and lead group fitness classes that follow recognized safety guidelines.
- Observe participants to ensure they use proper technique and posture.
- Provide advice and resources to help members with their fitness and wellness questions.
- Maintain the security and cleanliness of the facility and equipment.
- Assist with risk reduction and emergency care when necessary.
- Provide customer service to all clients and visitors.
- Encourage the campus community to maintain active lifestyles.
What you'll need#
- A nationally recognized group exercise certificate.
- Ability to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of starting.
- Ability to pass a State of Texas criminal background check.
- Skill in motivating class participants.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Previous teaching or training experience is helpful but not required.
- Enrollment in majors such as Kinesiology, Public Health, or Health Administration is preferred.

- Pay: $10.00 to $15.00 per hour.
