About the role#
As a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services, you will gain hands-on experience preparing tax returns and extensions. You will work under the supervision of experienced professionals, using your organizational skills and educational background to support our client base. This role provides an opportunity to build critical professional relationships and gain insight into firm practices.
What you'll do#
- Ensure clients comply with applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens.
- Work with tax software to complete simple tax returns for review.
- Organize files and complete tasks to minimize rework.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Perform quarterly estimates and prepare extensions.
- Monitor tax law developments and communicate potential impacts to the client service team.
- Use online research tools to gather pertinent tax information.
- Assist with components of income tax provisions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- A preference for candidates pursuing a masters degree in Accounting.
