About the role#
This paid internship focuses on research within the Beck's greenhouse in Atlanta, Indiana. You will gain experience in corn and soybean research, including performance testing, product development, and breeding. The role runs from May through August 2027 and includes furnished housing or a stipend. Please note that this is a full-time, safety-sensitive position that requires overtime and overnight travel.
What you'll do#
- Assist with seed preparation for the planting season.
- Travel with staff to plant test plots at various locations.
- Collect early and mid-season agronomic notes.
- Help with pollinating the corn breeding nursery.
- Support work in molecular marker or transformation labs.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student.
- A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude and the ability to set priorities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in agriculture is preferred.
- Ability to complete objectives without direct supervision.
