About the role#
This is a paid, full-time research internship for Summer 2027. You will work with the Beck's Research Department to gain experience in corn and soybean research. The role involves travel to various locations to support performance testing, product development, and breeding programs. You will receive housing or a stipend for the duration of the term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare seed for the upcoming planting season.
- Travel with staff to plant test plots at various locations.
- Collect early and mid-season agronomic data.
- Work in the corn breeding nursery, including pollination tasks.
- Assist with tasks in molecular marker or transformation labs.
- Complete other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student.
- Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude and the ability to set priorities.
- Capacity to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to complete objectives without constant supervision.
- Previous experience in agriculture is preferred.
- Willingness to work overtime and travel overnight.
