About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship with the Beck's Hybrids Research Department. You will gain experience in corn and soybean research, including performance testing, breeding, and product development. This position requires overnight travel and overtime as needed.
What you'll do#
- Prepare seed for the upcoming planting season.
- Travel with staff to outlying locations to assist with planting test plots.
- Collect early and mid-season agronomic notes.
- Assist with pollinating corn in the breeding nursery.
- Work in molecular marker or transformation labs.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student.
- A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to set priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude.
- Previous agriculture experience is preferred.

- Location: El Paso, Illinois.
- Term: Winter 2027 (starting late February or early March).
- Work modality: On-site.
- Housing: Furnished housing or a stipend is provided.
- Note: This is a safety-sensitive position. Offers are contingent upon passing a drug test and background check.
