About the role#
As a Business Management Coordinator intern at BMO, you will provide general office support and clerical tasks to help business groups run efficiently. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet business objectives while following set policies and controls. You will troubleshoot routine problems, maintain audit trails, and escalate non-routine issues as needed. This is a 4-month internship for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and schedule work, forecast resource needs, and monitor work quality.
- Train staff, provide verbal feedback, and assign tasks within manager guidelines.
- Maintain filing systems, databases, and office supply inventories.
- Track, verify, and process department budget and capital expenditure invoices, resolving any discrepancies.
- Prepare funding approval requests for department projects.
- Schedule meetings, arrange travel, and manage conference calls or catering requirements.
- Write, edit, and distribute communications materials like reports and presentations.
- Verify staff timesheets and track attendance data.
- Coordinate office premises changes, such as relocations or furniture needs, with internal units and vendors.
- Apply the Risk Management Framework to ensure all actions align with bank policies and regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an academic program with the intent to return to studies.
- Typically 2 to 3 years of relevant experience or certification in a related field.
- A certificate in Office Administration is considered an asset.
- Good verbal and written communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of business unit products, processes, controls, and risk requirements.
- Familiarity with office equipment and transactional documentation workflows.
