About the role#
The Hardware Asset Management (HAM) team manages the lifecycle of IT hardware assets, including servers, network devices, computers, mobile phones, ATMs, and printers. This team provides the visibility and controls necessary to ensure technology assets are tracked from purchase to retirement, helping the organization manage costs and reduce risks. As an intern, you will gain experience within a large financial institution and learn to use the ServiceNow CMDB platform. This role is not responsible for hands-on hardware support, such as physical deployment or imaging.
What you'll do#
- Develop and monitor reports to track hardware assets.
- Investigate and follow up on data quality issues.
- Identify automation opportunities and develop solutions.
- Define business requirements to inform technology builds and operations.
- Source and analyze market data to evaluate project impacts.
- Assess the efficiency and performance of technology systems.
- Identify and analyze malfunctions and system workflows.
- Troubleshoot issues raised by business partners.
- Support project teams across the project lifecycle, including developing project documents and artifacts.
- Build test cases to validate requirements and user acceptance testing (UAT) results.
- Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations for strategic problems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an academic program with an intent to return to studies.
- Foundational proficiency in data analysis, functional analysis, and application functional design.
- Knowledge of business architecture frameworks and requirements definition.
- Experience or interest in Agile delivery and development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Learning agility and a desire to optimize processes.
- Understanding of systems thinking and stakeholder management.
- Relevant specialized knowledge gained through education or business experience.
