About the role#
As a Product Control Analyst for the Winter 2027 term, you will join our finance team in Toronto. This is a full-time, on-site internship designed for students currently enrolled in an academic program who intend to return to their studies. You will contribute to financial reporting, governance, and accounting processes while gaining hands-on experience in a major financial institution.
What you'll do#
- Consolidate, analyze, and report on the financial performance of your assigned business group.
- Support month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries and financial statements.
- Gather and format data for regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
- Review financial information prepared by others for accuracy and highlight issues requiring attention.
- Provide information and support for both internal and external audits.
- Develop and recommend solutions based on business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet business objectives.
- Apply the BMO Risk Management Framework to ensure all activities align with bank policies and regulations.
- Execute routine tasks and service requests within established service level agreements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an academic program with the intent to return to studies.
- Completed or near-completion of an accounting designation.
- Specialized knowledge gained through education or business experience.
- In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated collaboration and team-working skills.
- Ability to influence others and exercise sound judgment.
- Academic background in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
