About the role#
As a Labor Relations Intern, you will gain experience working alongside full-time employees on real-world projects. The Labor Relations department manages collective bargaining agreements to ensure safe and efficient transportation. You will support these efforts by fostering relationships between the company, union employees, and their representatives. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Job shadow Labor Relations officers to support company initiatives.
- Research agreements and arbitration decisions to help interpret collective bargaining agreements.
- Collaborate on resolving labor disputes through grievance procedures, including drafting responsive letters and formal briefs.
- Assist with local labor agreement negotiations and provide support for labor claims conferences.
- Build professional relationships with internal Operations teams and rail union leaders.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Labor Relations, Labor Studies, Employment Relations, Business, Management, Legal Studies, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or a similar field.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Access to reliable transportation for the duration of the internship.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Fort Worth, Texas.
- The role is hybrid, requiring 40 hours per week with a mix of office and remote work.
- Training begins with a two-day orientation in Fort Worth.
