About the role#
As a System Safety Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the operational support of rail transportation. You will work with the System Safety team to learn about safety data analysis, regulatory compliance, and safety communications. This is a full-time, paid internship that offers practical experience and exposure to BNSF safety culture. Successful interns may be considered for full-time management trainee roles upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Manage reports related to injuries, rail equipment, and highway grade crossing incidents.
- Monitor data regarding hours of service compliance.
- Coordinate with Operations departments to compile and review safety information.
- Create reports to track and monitor safety performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Graduate degree program in Occupational Safety, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Business, Communications, Technical, or a similar field.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Minimum age of eighteen years old.
- Access to reliable transportation for the duration of the internship.

- This position is located in Fort Worth, Texas.
- This is an on-site, full-time role for Summer 2027.
- The internship includes a two-day orientation in Fort Worth.
