    About the role#

    As a System Safety Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the operational support of rail transportation. You will work with the System Safety team to learn about safety data analysis, regulatory compliance, and safety communications. This is a full-time, paid internship that offers practical experience and exposure to BNSF safety culture. Successful interns may be considered for full-time management trainee roles upon graduation.

    What you'll do#

    • Manage reports related to injuries, rail equipment, and highway grade crossing incidents.
    • Monitor data regarding hours of service compliance.
    • Coordinate with Operations departments to compile and review safety information.
    • Create reports to track and monitor safety performance.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Graduate degree program in Occupational Safety, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Business, Communications, Technical, or a similar field.
    • A cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
    • Minimum age of eighteen years old.
    • Access to reliable transportation for the duration of the internship.

    Location & details#

    • This position is located in Fort Worth, Texas.
    • This is an on-site, full-time role for Summer 2027.
    • The internship includes a two-day orientation in Fort Worth.
