About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Columbus, Ohio. This role offers exposure to the full site development process, from initial concept to final construction. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects.
What you'll do#
- Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
- Learn the various stages of the land development and site design process.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to create concept, grading, stormwater management, utility, and soil erosion plans.
- Collaborate with the project team to coordinate and drive development projects forward.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process in action.
- Participate in team meetings to contribute ideas for design and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field such as Biology, Architecture, or Business Administration.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong curiosity and motivation to learn.
