About the role#
The Student Lead for Dining Services at Centerpointe assists with the daily operations of the dining facility. You will balance technical tasks with team leadership, ensuring that food service, sanitation, and customer interactions meet established standards. This role requires the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and supporting the broader dining team.
What you'll do#
- Oversee and delegate daily tasks to team members, including scheduling and work assignments.
- Train and guide staff on job duties, food safety, sanitation, and customer service standards.
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize service counters and prep stations.
- Serve food to customers and ensure product levels remain stocked.
- Handle confidential materials and prepare necessary documentation.
- Communicate work status updates and task completions to your supervisor.
- Perform general duties such as dishwashing, cashiering, custodial work, and stocking.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- At least 6 months of job-related experience.
- Previous food service experience.
- Current food safety certification.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
- Capacity to set an example for others by understanding and following all policies and procedures.
- Successful completion of required training programs and ability to demonstrate job competencies.
