About the role#
As a Leasing Community Intern, you will serve as an ambassador for customer service at our Tuscaloosa property. You will help maintain occupancy by assisting current residents and securing new leases. This role requires a blend of administrative work, sales, and community engagement. You will work approximately 20 hours per week and must be available to work evenings and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Greet prospective clients and answer incoming leasing calls.
- Determine client needs and present apartment homes using feature-benefit selling.
- Manage lease applications and maintain accurate file documentation.
- Complete Cardinal Way of Leasing training and pass third-party leasing shops.
- Handle front desk tasks and assist with community projects or event planning.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the tour path to ensure a positive first impression.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities, including lockouts and nightly rounds.
- Demonstrate a professional attitude with residents, team members, and vendors.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours.
- Completion of at least one year of college with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Status as a current or future leaseholder at the community, residing on the designated floor.
- Valid driver license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and access all areas of the property, including indoor and outdoor spaces.
- Ability to embody the Cardinal Culture and core values.

- Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
- Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
- Status: Paid, part-time, on-site, rolling term.
