About the role#
KCRA/KQCA TV is hiring a Newsroom Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This internship offers an inside look at how a television station functions and the different roles required to produce news for the community. You will spend 10 to 12 weeks shadowing teams across the assignment desk, production, sports, and weather departments.
What you'll do#
- Assist team members in gathering news and information.
- Help research and write content for digital platforms.
- Monitor national sports feeds and accounts for breaking news.
- Analyze weather charts and models to help prepare daily forecasts.
- Practice writing and formatting scripts for broadcast.
- Support the sports and weather teams with data, statistics, and graphics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.
- Strong research skills and an interest in media production.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
