About the role#
This is a paid internship for students who want hands-on experience in the financial industry. You will work 25-30 hours per week from January through mid-April. The program provides a chance to apply your formal education to real tax projects while working alongside professional tax advisors and administrators.
What you'll do#
- Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals and businesses using UltraTax CS.
- Build workpapers in Engagement Manager and SurePrep that document the preparation process for each project.
- Manage project status and workflows using FirmFlow and GoFileRoom.
- Research and analyze various tax issues.
- Assist tax advisors and administrators with other tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate program at an accredited university with at least a 3.2 GPA.
- A major in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
- Active participation in campus organizations, ideally in a leadership role, or previous work experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on detail and confidentiality.
- Alignment with the mission and values of Cerity Partners.
