About the role#
This year-round internship at Charter Steel provides hands-on experience across core Human Resources functions. You will gain exposure to onboarding, compliance, reporting, and employee communications while supporting daily operations and strategic projects. This is a paid position designed to build your professional skills through mentorship and project work.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate new hire onboarding activities.
- Maintain accurate HR records and conduct compliance audits.
- Prepare reports and analyze HR data to support business decisions.
- Manage employee communications, announcements, and program updates.
- Provide administrative support for HR meetings, events, and employee programs.
- Assist with HR projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams on day-to-day operations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program for Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Current status as at least a sophomore with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, organize work, and pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to succeed in a team environment.
- Experience with HRIS, customer service, or HR law is preferred.

- Location: Cleveland, Ohio.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027 and beyond (year-round).
- Status: Full-time (40 hours per week during the summer; 15-20 hours per week during the academic year).
