About the role#
As a State & Local Tax Intern, you will join our team to help clients manage their sales tax obligations and strategic planning. You will work alongside tax professionals to reduce the risk of overpayment and handle administrative tax tasks. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with tax professionals on diverse projects, including data entry, organizing files, and completing forms.
- Manage correspondence with state tax agencies.
- Gather, manipulate, and analyze tax data.
- Research state tax statutes, regulations, and rulings.
- Verify all work for completeness and accuracy.
- Communicate with clients through on-site meetings, video calls, and project status reports.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation.
- Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work overtime during peak seasons.
- Stellar interpersonal and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
