About the role#
As a Tax Credits and Incentives Advisory Intern at Cherry Bekaert, you will join our team for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Austin, Texas. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting on federal and state credit and incentive engagements.
What you'll do#
- Work on R&D tax credit and deduction analyses, cost segregation projects, and energy credits.
- Interview technical personnel and review documentation to support credit and incentive opportunities.
- Manage and organize client data for analysis.
- Track project status and coordinate next steps with engagement teams.
- Lead the assembly of final client deliverables.
- Act as a point of contact for client personnel with both tax and technical backgrounds.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a junior or senior in an accredited accounting program.
- Progress toward 150 credit hours, with graduation expected in two years.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher is preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- An interest in areas such as R&D incentives, fixed asset review, and software development costs.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
