About the role#
This is an 8-month internship position for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to August. You will join the Global Transaction Banking team within the Payments group at CIBC Capital Markets in Toronto. This role is full-time and on-site.
What you'll do#
- Support the team with payment clearing relationships involving global partner banks.
- Provide payment product support for the Global Trade and Banking team.
- Manage foreign currency clearing arrangements with Correspondent banks to reduce costs and improve service quality.
- Oversee various aspects of the correspondent banking systems application.
- Identify sales opportunities for payment products for clients across Capital Markets.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree in Commerce, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected completion of your degree program no sooner than December 2027.
- Demonstrated interest in Capital Markets.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to adapt to new tools and trends.
- Strong critical thinking skills, organizational abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
