    About the role#

    The Software Engineer Co-op program at CIBC offers students hands-on work experience to complement classroom learning. You will work alongside a team of technology professionals, gaining technical and analytical skills while participating in mentorship and leadership support. This is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Design, build, test, and maintain software applications.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the design and development process.
    • Support Agile and Scrum development workflows.
    • Write technical specifications and documentation, translating business requirements into functional outcomes.
    • Perform testing to measure and ensure software quality.
    • Assist in evaluating and implementing technologies to improve application performance and stability.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment at Northeastern University, preferably in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.5.
    • Foundational knowledge of programming languages including Python, Java, C++, and C#.
    • Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes.
    • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
