About the role#
Citizens offers a 10-week summer internship program for undergraduate students interested in banking and data analytics. This program provides a dual experience where you spend half of your time working with a host team on ongoing bank initiatives. The remaining time is dedicated to a cross-functional project where you collaborate with other interns to solve real-world business problems. You will work 40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
What you'll do#
- Partner with a host team to contribute to areas such as reporting, data visualization, automation, and root-cause analysis.
- Work with business partners and mentors to define project objectives, gather requirements, and determine analytical approaches.
- Manage and investigate data within repositories to identify trends and quantify information.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support strategic decision-making.
- Communicate findings to internal teams and business partners to deliver solutions.
- Incorporate feedback to refine your approach and maximize business impact.
- Present your project contributions to colleagues and business leaders as a capstone exercise.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets, specifically regarding data cleaning, transformation, and exploration.
- Ability to complete a video interview assessment within 4 days of receiving the link.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a learning mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with tools such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Amazon S3, and Alteryx is preferred.
- Resilience, curiosity, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time summer internship for 2027.
- The role is based in a hybrid work structure at our offices in Johnston, RI, Columbus, OH, or Boston, MA.
- Permanent work authorization in the United States is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
