    About the role#

    This internship provides experience in the steel and construction reinforcement industry. You will gain hands-on skills through cross-training and work directly with leadership on process improvement initiatives. The role requires a commitment to a full-time schedule and the ability to work in varying weather and temperature conditions.

    What you'll do#

    • Cross-train across the department to learn industrial and engineering technologies.
    • Conduct time and motion studies and analyze the results.
    • Document processes and suggest changes to leadership.
    • Create, review, and update process flow layouts.
    • Identify and evaluate opportunities for cost savings.
    • Work on process improvement and safety projects.
    • Present a final report on an improvement project at the end of the term.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a similar field as a Junior or Senior.
    • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and MS Office programs.
    • Familiarity with engineering software such as Auto CAD and Solid Works.
    • Ability to interpret working drawings and apply ISO work instructions.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
    • Must be at least 18 years old and meet attendance standards.
    • Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
    • Physical ability to bend, stoop, lift, and reach.
    • Previous internship experience is preferred.
    • Knowledge of Lean tools is preferred.
