About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Oak Brook, Illinois. You will work on-site to design, develop, and validate embedded electronic products and systems from the initial concept through to the production stage.
What you'll do#
- Research, develop, and evaluate design concepts, materials, and equipment.
- Test new and existing circuits to ensure they meet functionality and qualification standards.
- Use simulation software and proof-of-concept prototypes to validate circuits and subsystems.
- Perform hardware validation and driver development.
- Support manufacturing programming through test flows.
- Determine the feasibility and application of new or enhanced products.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for all project phases.
- Review schematics, layouts, IO selection, and hardware requirements with the team.
- Coordinate engineering efforts and provide assistance to internal teams, external customers, vendors, and suppliers.
- Stay current on developments in engineering design and assist with training needs as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Agriculture Engineering.
- Experience with C++, PCB design, EMC, and energy flow analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional engineering environment.
