About the role#
CNH is seeking an Electrical Design Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. You will join the electrical hardware team to work on electronic hardware design for systems involving Linux processors and microcontrollers. You will take on a specific design project, such as a network adapter or a digital to analog video converter, to support the development of HMI devices, communications gateways, GNSS receivers, and vision systems.
What you'll do#
- Research, develop, and evaluate design concepts, materials, and specifications.
- Evaluate new and existing circuits for functionality and ensure they pass electrical qualification tests.
- Use simulation software and proof-of-concept prototypes to validate circuits and subsystems.
- Perform hardware validation, driver development, and support manufacturing programming.
- Determine the feasibility, application, and purpose of new or existing products.
- Create and maintain documentation for all project phases and designs.
- Participate in reviews regarding schematics, layout, IO selection, and hardware requirements.
- Coordinate engineering efforts and provide assistance to internal teams, vendors, suppliers, and customers.
- Stay informed on new developments in engineering design methods and applications.
- Assist with training needs related to products or processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program.
- Pursuit of at minimum a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
