About the role#
As a Software Test Engineer Intern, you will join our team to support system validation and verification. You will work on various projects to ensure software performance through both manual and automated testing. This role is based in Oak Brook, Illinois, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Develop, maintain, and execute validation test cases within a dSPACE Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environment.
- Design and implement manual and automated test cases to support system validation.
- Create automated test solutions using Python scripting, Configuration Desk, and parameterization.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of Simulink-based I/O models for HIL simulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to validate software and system performance in closed-loop environments.
- Support the improvement of test methodologies, automation frameworks, and validation processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree program.
- Proficiency in Python for test automation and scripting.
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink model development and simulation.
- Knowledge of Configuration Desk and test parameterization techniques.
- Understanding of closed-loop system validation and control system testing.
- Familiarity with HIL testing and validation, preferably using dSPACE platforms.
- Familiarity with automotive, agricultural, off-highway, or embedded systems validation environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
