About the role#
The Soil and Crop Modeling team develops simulation technologies to design and optimize agricultural equipment. You will join this team to work on real-world projects, contributing to virtual crop and soil models, simulation workflows, and validation activities. You will work alongside experienced engineers to solve complex challenges and improve equipment designs.
What you'll do#
- Develop and validate virtual crop flow models for mowing and conditioning systems using Discrete Element Method (DEM) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software.
- Use programming and API development to improve simulation physics and plant-to-equipment interactions.
- Measure physical and mechanical crop properties in the laboratory.
- Process experimental data and add your findings to equipment simulation models.
- Build upon the library of virtual crop models used for simulating standing crops, cutting, and conditioning.
- Work with design, test, and crop flow modeling teams to improve hay and forage equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associates, Technical, Bachelor’s, or Post-graduate degree program.
- Academic background in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Engineering, Biological/Biosystem/Bioresource Engineering, or Agronomy.

- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.

- Compensation: $23.69 - $25.75 per hour.
