About the role#
This is a part-time, temporary internship for graduate students in behavioral health. The position focuses on meeting educational goals and gaining practical experience in a community mental health setting. You will work at least 24 hours per week, though this schedule is negotiable based on your academic requirements. You will receive clinical and administrative supervision as required by your university and the organization.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct services to clients as permitted by your graduate program and organizational policies.
- Conduct point-in-time assessments to identify behavioral health issues.
- Build individualized treatment plans that include goals, objectives, and intervention recommendations.
- Write narrative documentation to capture the key content of client sessions.
- Manage a daily schedule typical of a practitioner in a community behavioral health environment.
- Coordinate with community resources to support client needs.
- Develop termination and after-care plans when treatment concludes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a behavioral health graduate program at an accredited university.
- Completed coursework in behavioral health assessment, diagnostics, professional ethics, and treatment theory.
- A valid driver license and an insurable driving record.
- Ability to pass all required background checks.
- Endorsement from an interview team regarding your potential to develop into a competent practitioner.
