About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern supports the pharmacy team at Community Health Systems. You will assist licensed pharmacists with daily hospital operations, including medication preparation and clinical support. This role provides hands-on experience in a hospital setting while you build foundational skills in pharmacy practice.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with compounding, preparing, and dispensing medications.
- Gather patient medication histories and help with medication reconciliation.
- Manage inventory by restocking supplies and checking expiration dates.
- Document pharmacy interventions and patient histories.
- Maintain safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards across all pharmacy areas.
- Participate in clinical initiatives like patient education and pharmacy rounding.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE-accredited College or School of Pharmacy.
- 0-1 years of Introductory or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE or APPE).
- A valid Licensed Pharmacy Tech State Pharmacy Intern or Technician Registration or Permit.
- Ability to follow precise written and verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
