About the role#
This is a paid, hands-on development program for pre-licensure nursing students. You will work alongside experienced nurses and clinical educators to build clinical judgment and confidence. The program lasts approximately 18 months and includes direct patient care, skill development, and specialty shadowing across the hospital. You will progress through four self-paced competency levels as you prepare for your transition into practice.
What you'll do#
Under the direction of an RN, you will assist with activities of daily living and monitor patient health. Your tasks include collecting and recording vital signs, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels. You will support patients with meals, bathing, grooming, and mobility. You will also communicate patient information to the care team and participate in performance improvement initiatives. As you complete competencies, you may receive training in skills such as phlebotomy, EKG performance, and bladder scanning.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited pre-licensure RN program.
- Nursing Foundations coursework completed or currently in progress.
- Ability to obtain BLS certification within seven days of hire.
- Commitment to work at least one shift per pay period during the semester.
- Professionalism, teamwork, and a focus on patient safety.
